Recognised as a National High-Tech Enterprise

On 3 December 2024 we were confirmed as a National High-Tech Enterprise under certificate number GR202461001171. The review is run jointly by the Shaanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Shaanxi Department of Finance and the Shaanxi Tax Bureau, and covers the research system, proprietary results, commercialisation capacity and technical staffing. Certification runs for three years.

Here is the honest version of why that matters to someone buying plants or fruit rather than to a regulator.

Breeding is the part that compounds

We have worked on kiwifruit propagation for more than twenty years, and the work is slow. Directed cross-pollination, then years waiting for seedlings to fruit, then chemical and taste testing, then culling anything unstable. A line that survives to commercial release has usually taken a decade.

That pipeline only produces results if it is funded and staffed continuously. High-Tech Enterprise recognition is a formal audit of exactly that: whether research output is real and repeatable rather than a seasonal activity. For a buyer it is a proxy signal that the varieties we quote will still be available, and supported, in five years.

What we actually do with it

  • Shoot-tip tissue culture to produce virus-free mother stock, which lowers bacterial canker risk in a new orchard
  • Rootstock work with Qinling seedling rootstock selected for stress tolerance
  • Variety selection alongside the kiwifruit research team at Northwest A&F University
  • A formatted gene bank of wild Qinling material used as breeding parents

The practical output is grafted, virus-free seedlings in the varieties commercial growers actually plant, sold bare-root or potted with export packing. Details sit on our plants and pollen page.

A caution

A certificate is not a guarantee of fruit quality, and no buyer should read it as one. It tells you the research side is genuine. Whether a given lot performs depends on how it was grown, picked and cooled, which you verify through inspection and through the lot records we issue with every shipment.
